                   RISK REPORT 2024/25

          • Political instability as various corruption scandals are being dealt with may further affect governance and law
              enforcement.
          • Ongoing crime could continue to affect SA's global standing, and diplomatic and trade relations.
          • Crime may exacerbate social tensions and widen the gap between already disparate groups, causing increased
              unrest, and destabilising national security.
          • Not rooting out deeply embedded corruption in SOEs will continue to cause billions to be lost to SOEs such as
Eskom, SAA, and Transnet, undermining the fiscus, state institutions, state infrastructure, and may ultimately
              cause State failure.
