10.2 SADC
SADC is an inter-governmental organisation and regional economic community, comprising
16 member states, with a mission to, inter alia, promote sustainable economic growth and
socio-economic development through cooperation, good governance, peace, and security;
so that the region emerges as competitive and effective in international relations and the
world economy.
SADC’S Integration and Development Plans
SADC has progressed in implementing the Regional
Integration Priorities (outlined in the SADC Vision 2050),
and the Regional Indicative Strategic Development
Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030. The implementation status (as
of August 2023), and 2022/23 progress of the RISDP by
pillar, are reflected in the graphic:
*Strategic Management of RISDP includes: (i) increased
potential innovative funding avenues, (ii) the SADC
Regional Development Fund (RDF), and (iii) enhanced
visibility and awareness of SADC, its activities and
impacts.
